Budapest – A Point Of Interest

2016 was a very busy year. I made some 17 over seas trips for work to different destinations around Europe. Whilst some destinations were difficult to shoot, some others just happened to be a dream. One particular city destination was Budapest, Hungary.

Budapest is a city that can challenge some of the greatest cities in Europe for its architecture, food, people and culture. Like most European cities, Budapest is pretty big but the transport system is second to none. This makes getting around the city pretty easy and its pretty cheap for a 3 day ticket. The Millennium Underground Railway (M1) system is a World Heritage Site and is the oldest on mainland Europe. Most of the city along the river Danube is classed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These include, the Hungarian Parliament, Fishermans Bastion, Buda Castle, Hero’s Square, Gresham Palace, Széchenyi Chain Bridge, Liberty Statue and Matthias Church.

As part of the trip I was able to get access to some of the places mentioned above. Below are some of the images that I thought summed up the city in a nutshell.
